This bliss ball recipe is a great ‘date free’ recipe. Like all bliss balls it’s easy to make as you simply throw all the ingredients into a food processor but the time is in the rolling of the balls. If you don’t have time to roll balls, then you can simply put it into a small slice tray and press down the mix then cut it in squares.
You can use any type of nut however to get that cheesecake type consistency and flavour you should use either cashews or macadamia nuts. I swap between the 2, as it depends what I have in my pantry. But, my preference is macadamia nuts. The other ingredient for that cheesecake flavour is using lemon essential oil, but of course you can substitute the lemon essential oil for lemon zest.
Remember, I use dōTERRA essential oils. The lemon essential oil can be ingested. Do not buy a lemon essential oil from the shops and use it, as it may actually be harmful to ingest. I don’t add any sweetener to these bliss balls as I find that they don’t need it, but if you want to use sweetener I would use either raw honey, rice malt syrup, maple syrup or your sweetener of choice. I also don’t coat them in extra coconut, but if you prefer, simply roll them in a little desiccated coconut then pop them in the fridge to set.
Strawberry Cheesecake Bliss Balls
- 1 Cup Frozen Organic Strawberries (or non-organic) defrosted
- 1 Cup Macadamia or Cashew Nuts*
- 1 Cup Desiccated Coconut**
- 3 drop of doTERRA Lemon Essential Oil*
- Using a food processor blend all ingredients together until the mix achieves the consistency you like. In my processor it goes into one big ball and I know it's the right consistency.
- Using a small ice cream scooper (I use a size 70) and your hands create a ball - this is where it starts to get messy
- Repeat til all mixture is used up
- Keep in refrigerator in an airtight container (you can also freeze them) - you can keep them out of the refrigerator but I like them cold and they will last longer.
** I buy an organic coconut without sulphites, but you can use any desiccated coconut you prefer.
